We’ve come across a fairly decent review of the new upcoming 2009 Audi S4. Audi has swayed away from the traditional all motor or turbocharged applications, and by the sounds of it, they got supercharging down very quick. The S4 will be almost 30% more fuel efficient then it’s outgoing brother with the 4.2 V8, which is a nice change.

Eaton chosen to provide supercharger to Audi for S4
In Eaton Corporation’s press release today, it has been concluded that the new TVS (Twin Vortices Series) style supercharger will be used in the upcoming Audi S4 series. Based on a direct injected 3.0 liter TFSI V6, the new S4 will have 290hp and 310lb/ft of torque available at just 2500 rpm.
These new technologies will help Audi stay at the forefront of innovation as all manufacturers move to greener cars.
The new S4, will reportedly achieve 24mpg with the help of the supercharger and direct injection.
The news of Audi collaborating with a North American supplier for superchargers, comes just a day after the head of engineering at Mercedes Benz confirmed all of their vehicle offerings by 2010 will be turbocharged.
If I were a tuner, I would get crackin’ on remapping the software for these cars and bumpin’ the boost.
