With seemingly every automaker in the midst of a product expansion, it comes as no surprise that Daimler’s Smart brand is considering a move beyond its two model lineup. Smart’s current lineup only offers seating for two – as the ForTwo nameplate would suggest – but the minicar maker is mulling a four-seater model.

Hydrogen city car rolls out in the UK
This is the hydrogen-powered Riversimple ‘urban car’. Driven by a 6kW fuel cell, it will be able to reach up to 50mph, travel from 0-30mph in 5.5 seconds and has a 240-mile range.
