So we’ve been going to events all year, checking out the ummmm… cars and events being hosted around Toronto. ImportFest, CSCS, Performance World, Speedorama you get the picture.

From time to time some people wonder what the car models are thinking of the onslaught of boys gawking, taking pictures or drooling over them. We have caught up with Synthia Sweets, one of the ImportFest models and asked her a couple of questions

I was just browsing some local events I couldn’t make it out to and I saw a couple of pretty interesting things… At Downsview Park this past weekend was ImportFest 2008. Mixed reviews I’m seeing…

Apparently when you have a refined vehicle, you’re supposed to be more subtle, etc etc etc…

Our friend MG on MBworld.com had the following to say about the attached picture:

Stop quoting the pic!!!!! It get worse each time

Foreground – Little Miss Saddle Bags, jesus, try squats to lift and firm.

Background – Little Miss Femullet, honey, the white shoes were for your little sister’s wedding, not wearing out in public with white socks.

Middle of the shot – Not so Little Miss Hail Damage, god what a train wreck, Pasty white, glasses, WHITE BRA???, knee brace…….WTf, do you even own a mirror?

up front – Little Miss Love handles, holy christmas, are your shorts so tight they pushed all your ass fat up over your wast band? That double dunlop is so significant in size they would make Dumbo less self conscious. AND WHAT IS UP WITH THE WRESTLING SHOES?

thank god for Little Miss hotness, at least from the back. Its telling that all of the guys in the shot are looking at her. Except that one guy looking at the Yeti, you know, the bald dude, the one with the look of horror on his face.

ImportFest 2008 Summer

Canadian Car Audio
It is hard to believe, but news out of the Car Audio world is that Importfest has abandoned the 3x DB Drag event they had previously planned.

The event which was to take place on May 10-11 was canceled after not enough people pre-registered. Event pricing was as follows:

Competitor T-Shirt
DO NOT TOUCH card
GOODIE BAG
Two VIP PASSES

* 1 Year Subscription to PAS Magazine
* Includes Electrical (Must bring your own Extension Cord)
Price: $87.00 CDN ($87.00 USD)

Hey, we want to know, do people read PAS Mag ?

Anyhow, CanadianCarAudio was informed of the event on 03-04-2008. The official deadline as reported on Canadian Car Audio was April 18th 2008. On April 12th rumors were already spreading that the car audio part of Importfest had been canceled, rumors were silenced when a post by Sound Demon went up:

Hello Gentlemen.
I am informing you that Importfest will not be holding the dBdrag within the event due the limited amount of vehicles required for this feature. So far we have only 6 registered vehicles. We need a minimum of 30 cars registered in order for this to go on. If you would like to attend the event as a spectator, we welcome you to do so.
I will be refunding your paypal amount with the next week or so.
Sorry for the inconvience.

Thanks,
Bret

Competitors were irate and it showed online where many of them were voicing their concerns and dislike at what had taken place.

JordyO, the site administrator can be seen stating,

“^^ Now I have to spend time with my mother-in-law!!” .

All jokes aside, many people were very displeased. Yuli S, owner of TF One Sub Woofers was right up in the discussion about the event;

“to say that people on here didnt want to support the event is really not fair. everybody supports every event, people drive to north bay for cspl shows for example. all of the shows count – a lot of poeple show a lot of dedication all of the time. but importfest would know nothing about that tho.”

johnw, employee of Audio Land Customs chimed in with

This is GAY, i was just about to register. I guess Db Drag was not that important to Import Fest. What a JOKE. bunch of losers….

What seemed like a promising and exciting event has turned out to be a weekend of making a trip to Carlisle.
With ImportFest losing the support of shops, competitors and the fans online, does it even affect them?

As for Importfest, the show will go on as usual. In previous years there have been some amazing rides and amazing girls!

Check it out and judge for yourself!
