Hyundai’s 310hp V6 2 door sportscar
Hyundai has announced their intention to build an affordable 2 door sports car for a while now. They are launching the Genesis Coupe this month over in Korea, with North American introduction coming in early next year.
Based on the current Lambda V6 engine that was first introduced in 2004, the RS edition features a series of modifications which have increased power to a maximum of 310 HP at 6,300rpm and peak torque to 36.8kg/m at 4700rpm.
The 310HP 3.8-liter V6 Lambda RS engine will be offered with a choice of two transmissions, a six-speed automatic or a six-speed manual.
We can’t wait to see and feel the car as it is bound to provide a lot of bang for the buck.
VIP Styled Hyundai Genesis at SEMA
Very surprisingly, Hyundai is trying to appeal to many different segments of the luxury market. The young & hip go after the VIP. With this very sensitively priced luxury sedan, I’m sure many “young guns” will pick it up.
Hyundai is partnering with RKSport Incorporated to develop a high-performance Genesis sedan for the 2008 SEMA Show. The modifications list reads like the rap sheet on a Fast and Furious movie including TSW wheels, Baer brakes, K&N air filter, Eibach lowering springs and a Magnaflow exhaust system. Perhaps even more to the FNF point are the composite hood, spoiler, front and rear fascias, and side skirts. We’re expecting the car to show with a tuned version of Hyundai’s 375 HP V8, but we’ll just have to wait to find out if it brings any actual upgrades along to Vegas.
